The Telehealth Manager's Toolkit was developed by the Telehealth Special Interest Group (SIG) to be a resource for managers and leaders. The toolkit contains information on:Telehealth National Standards and Position Statements; Hiring/Interviewing and Job Descriptions; Orientation Plan and Competencies; Effective Teams/Building a Leadership Team; Quality Assurance; Triage Policies; Managing Urgent Calls and Red Flag Words; Remote Nurses, and Educational Resources and Conferences. An appendix contains samples of an Urgent Call Routing Guide; Red Flag Words for Urgent Calls; Preceptor Training; Ambulatory Care Triage Policy & Procedure; Patient Telephone Encounter; and Job Descriptions. It is important to remember when reviewing the information in the toolkit that not all call centers are alike and that nursing practice varies from state to state.Managers should check with their State Board of Nursing regarding nursing scope and practice standards.Use this resource to start or improve your call center, ambulatory triage service or Telehealth Nursing practice.
